Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Okay, here's a good one that has been on my mind lately. Just what is this prophecy about? Any ideas? I'd like to listen to someone's insight.
I haven't entirely read the Bible especially the Book of Revelation. I think you should make a timely post about each passage in that book so to share to us here.
Gog and Maygog is capitalized and so this is the name of the nations living outside God's beloved city.
This is the description of the nations who reject the city and it's light:

The nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.
(Gog and Maygog are the deceived nations who believe Satan's lie and turn against God's city New Jerusalem))
"But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life." compare-
Rev 22:14-
"Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

So God of Maygog are the nations who are deceived, who reject God's arrangement, and who choose to continue in their sin. They choose to believe Satan's lie.
Perhaps they believe they can gain life without entering the City, or it could be they may attempt to take the tree of life by force. Non the less, they are rebelling against God and his anointed.
So, do you see this as a physical, natural event that takes place sometime in the future... or something else?
